STRATEGY IN MOTION
POLICIES

NOTE: These policies may change without notice. You can find out about changes by reading these policies anytime.

PRIVACY POLICY

I collect only the information on my website forms and personal, company and project information related to projects and workshops. I never sell your information to anyone. I never show it to anyone unless needed in connection with work your have contracted with me to provide or in cases I am legally required to share it.

PRICING POLICY

Estimates are free, with one exception: if some of the work must be performed in order to obtain the information necessary to determine a close estimate for completion of your project, that work will be contracted separately and billed at my standard hourly rate (current at the time of the work) minus the highest discount you qualify for at the time and the results of that work will be delivered to you upon payment completion. In that type of case, the estimate to continue your project will be sent after that initial work has been paid and delivered. Estimates are quoted by the expected number of hours your project will require. Time is billed by theactual hours spent on your project.

CONTRACT TYPE FOR PROJECTS

I prefer straight hourly billing. If you absolutely must have a fixed-price bid for your project, I can do that, but be aware that I buffer (i.e. add to) all fixed-price bids by a significant amount to account for the possibility of unforeseen issues.

If you choose to request an estimate as opposed to a fixed price bid, you will benefit from any savings resulting from actual vs estimated variances if actual hours worked total less than was estimated. This benefit is not be available with fix-priced bids.

CHANGE ORDERS AND AFFECT ON PAYMENTS AND PROJECT SCHEDULE

Whichever contract type you choose, the scope, schedule, and other project information will be briefly outlined in my proposal. After acceptance of my proposal, the project will be further defined, the schedule and other aspects of the project will be adjusted if necessary based on any new information and you will get a final estimate or bid before signing the contract. Any and all changes to any aspect of your project after you sign the contract will be managed and billed through change orders and may affect the scope, project schedule, payment schedule or other aspects of the contract. Each change order will also need to be signed in agreement by you.

PAYMENT POLICY FOR BUSINESS CONSULTING PROJECTS

All business consulting projects will have a payment schedule laid out in the contract. Most will have a payment schedule that follows the project schedule, ususally connected to the timing of milestones, shift points or other points in the project. However, other types of payment schedules may be implemented, depending on the project. Refer to your contract for specifics about your project plan and payment schedule.

The first payment, a good-faith deposit, is due when the contract is signed. Work will begin after receipt of the deposit. This deposit amount will be deducted from the last payment amount due, according to the payment schedule laid out in the contract, unless there have been change orders. If a change order changes the estimated hours to completion or the payment schedule, it may also change when this deposit will be applied. Refer to your contract and change order documents.
